This website provides information for families with young children about the services and activities offered by Sunderland Children’s Centres. There is also information for volunteers, health staff working in childcare, as well as employment and volunteering opportunities too.

Sunderland Children’s Centres are springing up all over the city, their purpose is to help give the children of Sunderland the best possible start in life, with activities for children and parents; help and support with practical issues; a place where you can find out all you need to know about young children.

Longer opening hours for Children's Centres

Following a public consultation with parents earlier this year, from 5th January 2009 Sunderland Children’s Centres will offer longer opening hours. Designed to improve access for working parents and pregnant women, the extended opening hours will see later closing times on an evening as well as Saturday openings.
