What's your view on childcare in Sunderland?
Sunderland City Council would like to find out more about parents/ carers views of the childcare that is currently available in the city.
From June to September 2010 the City Council will be asking parents about the childcare they currently use, or would like to use in the future whilst they work, train or study. This will help the council to better understand and plan services to meet the needs of families in the city.
Why is the council asking for my views on childcare?
Sunderland City Council has a duty to make sure that there is enough childcare in the area, so that parents can use this childcare in order to return to work, find a new job, take up training or attend college or university.
As well as gathering the views of parents and children who use childcare, we will be reviewing the current childcare that is available to see whether there are enough places being provided, and also whether the right types of childcare for children aged from birth to 17 years of age is readily available.
